Gelitin at Greene NaftaliThru 2/27/10
The other night at Greene Naftali, I saw a batch of super-skinny half-naked Austrian guys, all members of the fabulous art collective called Gelitin, wearing panties, stilettos, and blindfolds. They were trying to build a wild sculpture out of found materials, in the middle of a wooded pit, as happy art-worlders, including the heads of two major New York museums, looked on in absolute delight. (How do they work blindfolded? Assistants hand them tools and material and guide them around the site.) Go see the spirits of abandon, creativity, perversity, and chaos. And ask yourself, why do Austrians get naked at the drop of a hat? — Jerry Saltz

Gelitin, one of my favorite artists are having a show in Chelsea! I HAVE TO check it out. I’ll post the pictures from the gallery soon.
